A second-year PhD candidate in NLP at Utrecht University researching generalizability & explainability in NLU, with a focus on reasoning, benchmarks, and explanations. Supervised by Lasha Abzianidze, Tejaswini Deoskar, & Yoad Winter.
I hold a BA in literature and linguistics from University of Bucharest & an MA in linguistics from Utrecht University, where I studied as a recipient of the Bright Minds Fellowship. I have had many research 'lives', from multimodal LLMs & comedy roasts, to weak definites and critical literary theory, with — probably — many more to come.
In my research, I value transdisciplinarity, nonconformity, and creative thinking at the intersection of linguistics and AI. Before research, I aspired to be a writer and worked in poetry and theatre; today, I explore generative art in my free time.
